I'm bummed Iron Man had such a lackluster beginning.more I own collections with some of the next issues and I know they're much better than these. Some nice things were done to show the hardship he suffered because of his chest plate. That being said, I appreciated Tony's introspection. In some ways, I felt like I was getting more of them and Happy and Pepper's bickering than I was getting of Tony. Most of these seem too focused on his enemies with little snippets of Tony. These issues only moderately showcase that. I love Tony Stark for his brain, strategy, self-sacrificing nature and the protectiveness he has over his friends and employees. Iron Man/Tony Stark are very interesting characters but these issues don't use him very well. Similar time periods but that one managed to have so much excitement and character. First, he pits Iron Man against the Incredible Hulk in a battle of the titans that only one will walk away from, and then he tears him down with his discovery that Tony Stark is Iron Man! It's an all-time Iron Man classic that's so great that for good measure, we're also bringing you the carnage of the Controller, a threat so awesome that it brings Iron Man together with Nick Fury, Agent of S.H.I.E.L.D.This suffers from a case of the 1960's and some pretty meh writing.
